MI College, formerly known as IIPD, embarked
on its journey on July 20, 2006, with the motto "Inspiring Excellence."
The International Institute for Professional Development (IIPD)
commenced its journey on the same date, initially under the name of the
International Centre for Career Development (ICCD). The journey began with 19
students, two classrooms, one permanent faculty (the co-founder), and two
part-time lecturers. With the approval of several certificate courses by the
Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA), ICCD initiated its growth by offering
Cambridge International Diploma in Business and English Language courses.
As the student population grew, so did the faculty. In 2009, ICCD
relocated to a larger campus, and its name was changed to the International
Institute for Professional Development or IIPD. Similar to ICCD, IIPD is also
under the umbrella of the company Mianz Pvt. Ltd. The name "IIPD"
received approval from Margareta Funder, the Manager of ITC, signifying its transformation
from a career development center to a Professional Development Institute. IIPD
also became a franchise of India's largest training company, Aptech Computer
Education, leading to the establishment of another IT education campus in Male’.
Within three years, IIPD expanded the range of courses offered, and the
student population saw significant growth. Capitalizing on the opportunity to
diversify, IIPD extended its reach to the islands. In preparation for attaining
college status, considerable improvements were made in infrastructure and
academic strength through the collaborative efforts of the Senior Management
Team led by CEO Mr. Mottaki and Principal Mr. Nizam. The application for
college status was meticulously prepared and submitted to the Department of
Higher Education by Mr. Nizam. After a thorough inspection, IIPD was awarded
college status on April 21, 2014, and was subsequently named Mianz
International College, commonly known as MI College. Dr. Aamaal Ali was
appointed as the College's Rector.
MI College continues to experience substantial growth and currently
operates 17 branches across the Maldives. Student enrollment has surged,
reaching over 2500+ students, and the staff has grown from a mere 80 in 2014 to
a robust team of 200+ professionals across the country, aligning with the
College's mission of expanding higher education opportunities and empowering
the younger generation.
Mianz International's commitment extends beyond providing education at
various levels. In recent years, we have expanded our services to other
countries, delivering exceptional teaching to preschools, daycare centers, and
international schools, both locally and internationally.
Our success and growth owe much to the vision, guidance, dedication, and
hard work of our Chairman, Mr. Ahmed Mottaki. We remain committed to expanding
further and introducing new educational concepts that seamlessly integrate
theory and practicality, paving the way for everyone to pursue their dream
careers.
