A group of 32 students who are doing Diploma in Early Childhood Education from MI College left to Sri Lanka on 20th March 2015. Students and accompanying lecturers of the trip were met by the Rector of the College, Dr. Aamaal Ali at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport. At the airport a special lunch was provided to all the participants of the tour. Students of Haa Dhaal Kulhudhuffushi Campus and Male Campus a total of 33 students participated in this tour. This is the third study tour undertaken by early childhood trainee teachers of MI College On arrival in Colombo they were met and hosted by the CEO of the College Mr Ahmed Mottaki. Who takes on a keen interest to personally see to it that the students are well looked after and the program goes to plan.
The purpose of this tour is to deepen the knowledge and skills of the early childhood trainee teachers. In this tour trainee teachers will be visiting 3 Pre-schools of Colombo and Kandy. The study tour will be offering trainings by teachers in these schools, which will help our trainee teachers to understand the pedagogical approaches used in preschools in SriLanka broadening the trainee teachers’ thinking about teaching in early childhood classrooms. Further training sessions at Shining Montessori and Ladies College are also a part of the planned program on this tour. Apart from this, the students will be provided opportunities to explore life in a different society and have moments to take photos locking into their minds fond memories of their eduventure trip to SriLanka
