The staff and students of MI College are conducting a series of programmes under the theme of ‘MI College for the Nation’.
The first programme was held on the 30th of May, to coincide with the Martyrs’ Day which is marked on the 1st of Shauban of the Hijri Calendar. At 4 pm the programme started with the cleaning up of Sultan Park. All the staff, including members of the Senior Management Team and volunteer students participated in the cleaning programme. As it was also a day of national importance, national songs were played during the cleaning up.
At 5:45 pm, the staff and students lined up outside the Park, facing the road and with hands linked (making a ‘human chain’) as a symbol of patriotic unity when performing national duties. They were holding placards with slogans that are related to Martyrs’ Day, and singing a song that had been made for the Martyrs of the nation and is still a popular song in the country.
The programme concluded at 6.15 pm.
